Aftercare

Cremation is available.

After the euthanasia process has been completed you have the option to take your pet’s body home with you or have the remains cremated. If you choose to have your pet cremated, we will transport the body to Ridge Animal Hospital which has a modern crematorium on site and our staff will personally care for your pets remains.

We offer three types of cremation – private, individual or communal. With communal cremation your pet will be cremated with other pets and you will not receive any ashes after the process has been completed. Individual cremation means your pet will be cremated by him or herself and the ashes returned to you in an urn. There may be other remains in the cremation chamber at the same time but they are physically separated so that no commingling of remains occurs. Private cremation means the chamber contains only your pet’s remains during the cremation process and the ashes will be returned to you in an urn. For animals over 120 lbs, communal cremation or private cremation are the only options. We have a selection of unique urns for you to choose from if you wish to have a special place for your pet memorial. You may also receive an ink paw print memorial with an individual cremation.

If you wish to take your pet’s remains home we can provide a small box for transport. In the case of a medium to large dog it would be best for you to bring a sheet or blanket to wrap your pet in for transport. We can assist you in placing your pet into your vehicle.
